- The Android app version has been updated as below:
Android: Native: 2.1.1, JS: 2.2.1
- The iOS app version remains as below:
iOS: Native: 2.1.0, JS: 2.2.1
Both Google and Apple are increasing their requirements for informing users about data collected by the app, as well as what the third party tools are used and what these tools do with the data that they collect.
The Apple store listing for Kura now includes Apple's required ‘privacy nutrition labels’. If you look on the apple store for Kura, you will now see a new section of the app store page listing called app privacy.
The Google update required an app release with further information on how background location is used. When the app is launched and a driver logs-in for the first time they will be asked to allow access to their device location with a message to let them know why Kura uses background location data. This will only be shown on first login to the new app and won't be displayed to observers.
Bulk Upload Observer Amendments:
As there are no unique identifiers in bulk upload data for observers, a combination of name and email was used to identify a person, as some observers use shared email addresses. Through queries received via Zendesk we have seen that observer profiles change name information more than expected and, as a result, profiles are disabled and links to passengers need to be established with a new profile.
A change has been made so that only email address is used to identify observer profiles. Where people use a shared email address a combined profile will be created with all observer emails and the single email address. The phone number of the first observer loaded will be used for the profile. This allows update of observer name and phone number without profiles being disabled and links to passengers needing to be re-established.
Website Updates - New UI/UX:
Trip Schedule Calendar:
The trip schedule calendar has been created to show all trips scheduled. As before, colours are used to identify any trips where routepoints have been edited, to highlight trips that differ to the main schedule. Trips are now listed with departure from first stop and arrival at last stop times so that you can easily identify trips that are running at different times, for example where a trip on the last day of term starts earlier than normal.
For each trip date you can select the calendar entry to see further options. For trips in the past you can select to view trip and view journey. For trips in the future you can select to View Trip or Edit Routepoints. For a trip for today, you can select to View Trip and also View Journey will show 90 minutes before trips scheduled start, when it is possible for the driver to start this in their app. You can select to Edit Routepoints so that this is consistent with the main schedule approach, up until 2 hours and 5 minutes of scheduled start.
Visibility of Operator:
Each trip entry in the schedule calendar will show the name of the operator assigned so that you can easily see if trips have operators. To easily identify trips where there is no operator assigned you If no operator has been assigned you will see a message 'No operator assigned'.
Each trip calendar entry will show the capacity added when an operator is assigned to the trip. It will also show the quantity of seats available, accounting for any passengers booked, so that you can easily identify available space on a vehicle.
Person Add Profile:
From the Profile summary view you can now add a profile. This opens a modal where you can add name, email, phone number. You can set if the profile belongs to a passenger, any tokens that they will be using to register their boarding/disembarking of a vehicle and any profiles that will observe them. You can also add an auth group if they are a driver or website user.
Person View and Edit Profile:
You can select the settings icon on a profile card to open a modal where you can view the information for a profile. For a profile that has a linked account you can see the account email address and phone number and unlink the account from the profile if required. If there is no linked user you can see if a welcome email has been sent and choose to send another email if required.
At the bottom of the view you can select to edit the profile information. In edit you can change name and contact information, change passenger status, add or edit tokens, add observers or change or assign auth group.
